Co/Labs bring designers and partners together to work on societal challenges. Through matchmaking between designers and challenge owners, new perspectives, ideas and solutions emerge. Dutch Design Foundation (DDF) brings businesses, policymakers, researchers and designers together, using the power of imagination as a driver for change. A Co/Lab is more than a design process: DDF provides guidance, connects the right network and supports communication and visibility throughout the process and around its results.
The world is facing major challenges: climate change, technological developments, social inequality and geopolitical tensions. We know that things need to change, but there are many different views on how to do so. To truly change course, we need to let go of established patterns and put shared values at the centre: a sustainable, socially inclusive society and a liveable planet for future generations.
By connecting the power of design to concrete challenges and a broad network, DDF aims to accelerate change towards a more sustainable and socially inclusive society.
uilding on the success of previous programmes such as World Design Embassies and What if Lab, Dutch Design Foundation offers Co/Labs as a platform, broad network and structured approach for bringing creative thinkers and doers together with the expertise and capacity of scientists, organisations and governments.
DDF does this through Co/Labs: professionally facilitated design collaborations focused on real-world challenges. Clients - from governments to businesses - and subject-matter experts are connected with some of the most innovative and creative thinkers and doers: designers. DDF helps organisations translate their challenges into concrete design questions and supports them in building productive, lasting collaborations.
