Design Innovation Sessions | Health & Well-Being: Care by Design

During the Mission Days, part of Dutch Design Week, we bring together designers, researchers and professionals to discuss current themes that are shaping our future. From Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 October, CLICKNL will be organising their Design Innovation Sessions: short, impactful sessions in which design, research and practice come together to address a different societal challenge.

On Thursday 22 October the session Health & Well-Being: Care by Design will take place.

Care by Design

Ageing populations, staff shortages, rising healthcare costs: the pressure on the health system is immense, and MedTech can play an important role in easing that pressure. From wearable treatments to soft robotic artificial hearts: how can technology help improve care and support people in living independently for longer? And how can these developments create more space for healthcare professionals to focus on what truly matters?

During this session, we explore what it takes to create healthcare innovations that respond to real needs and work in practice. How do we make sure we are solving a need worth solving? And what can design contribute throughout the process, from identifying unmet needs to developing technologies that work in practice?

Meet the speakers

The speakers who will be sharing their insights during the sessions are Eline van Beest (Thuja Capital and TU Delft), Marina Toeters (by-wire.net and Bilihome), Bas Overvelde (Eindhoven University of Technology) and Arie Paul van den Beukel(Saxion University of Applied Sciences). Nathan de Groot will be moderating the session.
